Introduction: Grant Young

As this is my first post on Green Loves Gold, I thought it worth providing just a little introduction.

Hi there - my name is Grant Young and when I’m not working as an online communications & social media consultant, I suppose I’m what they call a social entrepreneur - as founder of Arketype, a menswear label for creative professionals that has the principles of sustainability at it’s core.

I’ve long been a passionate advocate for social justice and environmental issues (mainly on my personal blog) and my interests in these areas have more recently made their way into my professional activities - including working for WWF-Australia and sustainable design agency Digital Eskimo.

I started Arketype earlier this year (2008) - you can read a bit about my journey so far here - as a business that combines my business skills with my interests in social and environmental sustainability.

Thanks to Colin’s invitation, I hope to share some of what I learn and my thoughts on sustainable business, especially sustainably produced clothing, here. I look forward to conversing with you all more in due course.
